What Lip Filler Actually Does

Lip filler is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler used to enhance the shape, balance, and proportion of your lips. Depending on your goals, it can add subtle volume, improve symmetry, define the lip border, restore hydration, or soften fine lines around the mouth.

The goal isn't to create someone else's lips—it's to create lips that fit your face. Whether you're looking for a barely-there refresh or a more noticeable enhancement, every treatment is tailored to your features and your comfort level.

My approach is always conservative. We'll create a plan together, and the focus will always be balanced results that still look like you.

What to expect when you come in

We'll start with a consultation to discuss your goals, assess your lips and overall facial balance, and create a treatment plan that's right for you.

Treatment is typically completed in under an hour. Most people describe the injections as brief pressure or a quick pinch.

Afterward, some swelling and minor bruising are normal. Most patients return to their usual routine the same day, though I recommend scheduling treatment two to three months before a wedding, vacation, or other special event to allow time for healing and, if appropriate, any planned refinements.

  • There’s some discomfort, but it’s brief. Most people say it feels more like pressure or small pinches than actual pain. Everyone’s tolerance is different, and I’ll check in with you throughout.
